I enjoyed the Carolyn's approach to living a Godly life and appreciated the reminder that I am fearfully and wonderfully made, which means it’s not only okay that I rest from a busy schedule, but it’s necessary. Pushing myself to my limits isn’t a good use of the talents or body God has given me.
Carolyn's assessment that if her life were a book "it would look less like a well thought out story and more like a run on sentence… without any room to breathe" hit particularly close to home. I enjoyed the reminders through the book that the ability to be still is a practice worth cultivating and one we were made to master.

This book is a great New Year's read. I actually started it while my daughter was having surgery and was very grateful how it fully engaged my attention which kept me from worrying. This is a good reminder of how intricately we are made by our creator and even if aren't living our lives perfectly or how we are intended to, we are never to far away to get back on track. The author was very thoughtful in the simplistic way she explained things in layman terms so everyone could understand how we are created with purpose and by a loving God. I would suggest this book to not just Christians, but to anyone who's a little curious of what a faithful walk looks like.
Living in Sync with Your God-Gven Design is a very practical and helpful book, enjoyable to read, and easy to understand. I wish I had this educational book when I was a young mother, as it provides excellent personal and family habits which can be put into practice. I’m starting now! I especially benefited from the chapter on Rest and Recovery. Spiritually, the author gives a very clear message of the Gospel. I have bookmarked pages 124-133 for frequent reference, Getting to Know Your Maker.
