**SECRET PLACES REVEALED IS A EMMA AWARD WINNER*** BEST INSPIRATIONAL/SPIRITUAL ROMANCE.
Secret Places Revealed opens with Aaron's single-minded determination to not become involved in anything more than his blossoming, potentially successful business pursuits - but life has a way of changing even the most carefully determined plan, and so it is that Simone enters Aaron'slife with her own preset obstacles to romance.

It should be mentioned that this is billed as an inspirational romance. This label means that God's hand is ever-present throughout the story line, and that spiritual references are part of the events. Even when His will is being questioned, forces are being set into place that will lead both characters in new directions: "People told her never to question God. But those who knew Simone knew her to be inquisitive. She couldn't understand why God had taken away the only man she ever truly loved.Joshua was her soul mate, her friend, the love of her life, her future children's father."

Manhattan is the backdrop for the romantic action; but both characters are experiencing lives interrupted by challenging changes when they meet, and sparks don't fly automatically when so many jigsaw pieces of their broken lives remain scattered. It will take a miracle (or divine intervention)for these wounded individuals to overcome their pain and see love and broken dreams alike forging new directions for their lives.

On the face of it, Secret Places Revealed is a romance, to be sure. But there's something deeper happening than an attraction between two powerful, professional individuals, and this is where the spiritual side of the story comes into play.

Many satisfying devices are used: street talk and slang are realistic and well done, the characters of Aaron and Simone are both visions of beauty both internally and externally, and there are many light moments sprinkled throughout, as when a young man with saggy pants tries to flirt with Simone right in front of Aaron, using a poor pick-up line that cause both to laugh.

How does healing begin and where does love enter the picture- and how does divine intervention enter into the scene? What flaws are deal-killers and what knowledge serves to solidify the passions and purposes of a deeper love?
Secret Places Revealed covers all these topics and more and is especially recommended for religious romance readers who like their protagonists powerful, sassy, human, and God-driven.

The scene is set in Manhattan, New York, the city that never sleeps. Simone Herron seems to have her life all together, a job she loves with a successful real estate firm, and a loving fiancé who fits the title of her soul mate. When a tragic event separates her from the love of her life, Simone must make some tough life decisions that involve relocating to her hometown, mending a broken relationship with her self-absorbed sister, and learning to trust in love once again. Secret Places Revealed by Paulette Harper is a well-developed inspirational story about dealing with loss, adventure, and trusting in a higher power, all while fulfilling your destiny.

Dealing with my own successes and losses in life, I felt a strong connection with Paulette Harper's character Simone Herron, and was inspired by her resilience to remain focused and positive when everything seemed to be falling apart. I especially loved the sister-ship Simone had with her girlfriend Kendra, her trusted confidante, and found myself laughing along with them. Oh, the elevator mishap was priceless as a prelude to a romantic adventure between Simone and Aaron.

Secret Places Revealed is heartwarming and sincere. I applaud Ms. Harper for writing such an inspiring story in today's vernacular-staying true to her audience, about taking a leap of faith that beckons one to look deep within ourselves for truth and understanding while fighting an addiction. Ms. Harper's descriptive narration allows us to fall in love with each character and their pursuits to happiness. If you liked reading "Waiting to Exhale", "Not Easily Broken", and "The Preachers Wife", you will not be disappointed while reading Paulette Harper's Secret Places Revealed. I highly recommend adding this book to your collection.

About the author...

Paulette Harper's story is different from other authors. She didn't grow up with the aspiration to become a writer. When she decided to pursue a writing career, she knew of no author who could guide her through the process. Those she shared her aspirations with looked at her with disbelief. Although they may not have openly questioned her goals or aspirations, she knew that in the back of their minds they questioned her success. It was the kind of skepticism that whispered, "Oh yeah, we've heard that before!" But she never allowed their disbelief to influence the direction she believed God was taking her.

Paulette wrote that statement in 2011 when her second book Completely Whole, a Readers' Favorite Award winner, was released. She followed her award winning book with others: Living Separate Lives; her children's book, Princess Nevaeh; and her Write Now Author's Manual, Tools and Resources for Success. Her story The Courage to Stand is included in Vanessa Miller's collaboration Love. Hope. Faith. Stories that uplift, inspire and enlighten.
In addition to being an author, Paulette is an inspirational speaker, as well as a writing workshop instructor. She has a passion to coach aspiring authors and speak into the lives of women from every walk of life. Her literary works have been spotlighted in a growing number of publications, including CBN, Real Life Real Faith Magazine, and Black Pearls Magazine. She has also appeared on numerous local and online radio shows.
