I know, I know, I’m not a woman. But I often find the female perspective intriguing because it’s different from my own in ways that I don’t even expect. And my interest was piqued by the description that hinted at a new take on Eve.
What I found is that the entire book is couched in the theology of Adam and Eve, which I greatly appreciated as Bozena took our perceptions of womanhood and manhood back to the beginning. I also found that Bozen a is a clinical Christian psychologist, which naturally gave me confidence in her insights.
“Strong Within” is well-written and is, indeed, very insightful. This isn’t a simple, feel-good book for women. Bozena has done her research well and includes a lot of poignant findings from historical theologians and artists. There’s plenty of Scripture, too, so this isn’t a light gloss on Christianity. It’s a solid book to study and learn from. It also has application in the form of end-of-chapter exercises.
I recommend it for any reader – female or male – who digs a little deeper into their identity as a woman or man.

Bozena Zawisz has worked and counseled with multiple women about their worth as a person and to help them understand the false box men and women have placed on them. Strong Within: The Christian Woman’s Guidebook for Nurturing Self-Love and Personal Power, outlines the character Eve and the place she represents in our lives. This misunderstood woman is blamed for sins of mankind and therefore, the weight of her mistake was placed upon all women. As some men would like to believe.
Strong Within is more than a study guide about the first woman. Bozena Zawisz clears up the thoughts expressed about Eve and how to break free from this oppressive view. Through poetry, teaching, and scripture the author brings the reader to a stepping point where they can decide and think closely about the freedom they have in their life. The author is a strong believer in women having the strength to make wise and important decisions without the woman becoming so formidable that they run everyone over in their path
“Strong Within” is a book targeting at Christian women with the objective of helping them with personal growth. The book addresses many challenges that women have to deal with on a daily basis.
What I really like about the book is how the author goes into in-depth discussion about the first woman in the creation of humans — Eve. She makes close biblical references and draws wise inferences on how women of today can still look to Eve to understand our dedicated female roles and also determine the kind of woman that we should be.
I also like the questions that set the reader thinking and the dedicated spaces for the reader to pen down our reflections. This is not just a book that provides you with lots of valuable information, but also one that acts as a wonderful guide to really help you on a journey of personal transformation.
A book that is written in the most sincere and heart-felt manner with God’s hand visibly upon this book.
